Meeting for Kona Hema will take place on September 30, 2025 at 8 AM just mauka of the intersection of Highway 11 at the turn-off to Honomalino Road in South Kona. Here is a google maps point for the meeting location. Meeting for Kaʻū will take place on October 1, 2025 at 8 AM at The Nature Conservancy's (TNC) Ka'ū Field Office, 95-6006 Mamalahoa Hwy Naalehu, HI. 96772.
You will need a 4WD vehicle to access the project site(s) for the Pre-Bid Conference. Due to steep terrain, not all sections of the projects are accessible with 4WD trucks, so bring sturdy hiking shoes and drinking water if you would like to inspect all sections. Be prepared for hot and/or rainy weather at an elevation of approximately 2,000 to 5,500 feet (Kona Hema) and 2,000 to 4,500 feet (Kaʻū).
As a courtesy, please contact the Contractor Administrator, at least one day prior to the meeting if you would like to participate. Bidders are strongly advised to inspect the general fencing area prior to submitting a proposal. Forest habitat can be examined by doing a “fly-over” of the fence installation site at the bidder’s expense. Geographic Information System (GIS) shapefiles of the fenceline are available here: https://tnc.box.com/s/lfxrog5exhyhdihiltkwr9ft8h91zsqe. Topographic and logistic conditions present difficulties that are not typical for fence installation projects. Failure to visit the work area/installation site will in no way relieve the successful bidder from completion of the work in accordance with the specifications, terms, and conditions herein to the satisfaction of the Contracting Officer's Representative. | | |
